The situation

Cosmos Sports & Entertainment brokers sponsorship, partnerships and team ownership across Canadian sport. The brief was one offer: franchise ownership, pitched to wealthy business owners. We ran it as briefed, and added a second offer alongside: a partnership intro to sports and events organizations, led by the client's own credentials.

What we built

The franchise list

Industry isn't buying power. 138,467 Canadian contacts became 13,017 after three wealth filters: owner titles, privately held companies and a headcount floor.

The partnership list

Strict exact-title matching cut 46,409 contacts to 19,295. An AI read 8,903 websites for $3.87 and judged each against the brief. The client's 152 existing relationships became 136 blocked domains, so nobody they already knew got an email.

The kill rule

A variant with 0 replies after 4,446 emails was cut, not given more time.

What changed because of it

The client's top-priority industries (real estate, construction, auto dealers) produced 0 positive replies from about 4,200 leads. Tech, which they'd ranked last, produced half the franchise positives. Law and accounting partners were 27% of the list and produced none. Events services and spectator sports drove 43 of the first interested replies, so the next batches went deeper into both.
